Why It Matters

Your Home Feels Safe.
But Is the Air?

During pregnancy, your body becomes a sanctuary — and so does your home. But the air inside most homes contains a cocktail of invisible pollutants that have been linked to preterm birth, low birth weight, impaired lung development, and neurodevelopmental delays in children.

Research from Harvard, Columbia, and the EPA consistently shows that prenatal exposure to indoor air pollutants during the first and second trimesters is associated with lower cognitive development scores at ages 1 and 3. Your baby's lungs and brain are forming right now — the air quality in your home directly shapes that process.

Comprehensive Testing

What Hides in Your Home's Air

Our certified inspectors test for the six most critical indoor air pollutants known to affect maternal and infant health.

High Risk

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

Found in paints, cleaning products, new furniture, and flooring. Formaldehyde and benzene are linked to developmental issues and respiratory problems in fetuses.

High Risk

Mold & Mold Spores

Hidden in walls, under floors, and in HVAC systems. Mold exposure during pregnancy is linked to respiratory infections and worsened asthma in newborns.

High Risk

Radon Gas

A naturally occurring radioactive gas that seeps through foundations. The #2 cause of lung cancer — and 1 in 15 US homes has elevated levels.

Moderate Risk

Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5)

Microscopic particles from cooking, candles, and dust that penetrate deep into lungs. Linked to inflammation in pregnant women and preterm birth.

Critical Risk

Carbon Monoxide

Odorless and colorless, CO from faulty appliances can cause severe oxygen deprivation in the fetus, leading to developmental damage or miscarriage.

Medium Risk

Allergens & Biological Contaminants

Dust mites, pet dander, and pollen accumulate in carpets and upholstery. Prenatal sensitization increases the risk of childhood asthma and allergies.

Nursery-Focused Testing

We Pay Special Attention to
Your Baby's Room

Newborns spend up to 16–18 hours a day sleeping. That means the air in their nursery is the single most important air they breathe. New paint, new furniture, new carpeting — all common in freshly prepared nurseries — are among the highest sources of VOC off-gassing.

Our nursery-specific inspection protocol tests for 14 distinct VOCs, mold spores, particulate matter, and humidity levels — giving you a complete picture before your baby arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking.

Absolutely. Our inspectors use passive sampling methods and non-invasive equipment that pose no risk to you or your baby. We do not use any chemicals or sprays during the inspection process. The entire visit typically takes 2–3 hours.

We recommend scheduling your inspection during the second trimester (weeks 14–27). This gives you enough time to address any issues before your due date, while avoiding the most sensitive first trimester. However, any time during pregnancy is better than not testing at all.

A standard inspection takes approximately 2–3 hours for a typical home (up to 2,500 sq ft). Larger homes or those requiring additional testing may take up to 4 hours. You can remain in the home during the inspection.

Don't panic — most issues are addressable. Our report provides a clear, prioritized action plan. Many fixes are simple (improved ventilation, replacing products) while others may require professional remediation. We connect you with vetted, trusted contractors if needed.

Yes — and new construction is often more important to test. New homes frequently have high VOC levels from fresh paint, flooring adhesives, and new furniture. Many of our clients are surprised to find that their brand-new home has the highest pollutant levels.

Your comprehensive digital report is delivered within 24 hours of the inspection. For radon testing, results may take 48–72 hours as samples are sent to a certified laboratory. We'll notify you the moment your report is ready.
